Who Are Scripts for Pantos?

Tony Bowditch and William Balfour first teamed up nearly 30 years ago when founding a new pantomime and variety group in their Cornish community.

The village hall had a low ceiling and a tiny stage built by the group. The billiard room acted as dressing room. One year there was a power cut and the show started by candle-light.

Tony and Willy have written over a score of pantomime scripts, comedy sketches and variety shows, directing (and starring in!) most of them.

Their scripts have always featured a strong storyline and plenty of colourful characters, with the emphasis firmly on comedy. Their talents first received wider recognition in the county-wide Pantomime Festival, in which they regularly carried off the awards for best script/funniest script/funniest show/best show. When other groups started asking to use the scripts, the idea for this website was born.

Tony and Willy insist that the pleasure of knowing their scripts are giving pleasure to new audiences all over the country far outweighs any remuneration!
